About Us

Welcome to the New Forest Model Railway Society website.

The New Forest Railway Society was started in 1975 and has around 40 active members. We meet Tuesday evenings at Brockenhurst Village Hall and each year we stage two exhibitions. At the end of May a two day exhibition consists of layouts from many other clubs and individuals and at the end of November the club has its own open day where members layouts and layouts worked on during the year are exhibited. See our diary page for details of exhibition dates and meeting times.

Our membership includes people all ages and we model mostly in N, OO and O gauges. Membership is less than £1 per week. During club nights we are constructing new layouts as well as repairing, maintaining and updating existing layouts as well as having a good chat and watching train videos. If you are interested in joining, or just want to see what we do, then please pay us a visit - we are very friendly, informal and welcoming.

It doesn't matter whether or not you have any particular modelling or engineering skills, the only requirement is that you are interested in model railways. Please visit the other pages of this website to see our layouts.

And if you join the club and are really keen you can even enter one of club modelling competitions and win a cup!
